Born on a small ranch in El Grullo, Jalisco, México (1942), Sister Engracia Robles has a bachelor's degree in biblical and religious sciences. She arrived to Nogales, Sonora in 2007 and has played a pivotal role in developing and sustaining humanitarian assistance for migrants there. A long time social activist, she is currently the education coordinator at the Kino Border Initiative and editor of Voices of the Border: Testimonies of Migration, Deportation, and Asylum (2021).
