Born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Dina Núñez migrated to Brownsville, Texas as a young woman and identifies as an escritora fronteriza (border writer). Núñez has worked to defend the rights of women workers along the U.S./ Mexican Border by advocating for labor rights, environmental justice, and highlighting violence against women. Núñez has worked with the non-profit organization Border Workers United, Círculo de Escritoras and helped to launch a platform called Las Malcriadas Fronterizas, a space for women border workers to speak about their perspectives, ways of living, labor exploitation, and dehumanization in public and private spheres. Their writing was published in the edited anthology: Historias de Mujeres Indomables (2023).
