Grace Tapia-Beltran was born and raised in South Tucson, Arizona, and lives on the property where her great-grandfather built the family’s original home. The first in her family to graduate high school, Tapia-Beltran moved to San Diego to attend college, and returned to South Tucson upon graduation. She has served her community through her role as an educator in local schools, and she and her husband opened their home to students in need of academic resources and support. Tapia-Beltran’s family home became a central hub for community organizing and advocacy in South Tucson.

Tapia-Beltran took a group of 8 students to the Mexican American Studies Department at the U of A for the CICRE conference where they presented their ethnography research. 2024.
Tapia-Beltran owns a sewing business in Tucson where she sells unique items including dresses, aprons, totes, and quilts.
